Carl F.H. Henry: God, Revelation, and Authority
Finally! At last! I have added to my library a six volume set by Carl F.H. Henry entitled, God, Revelation, Authority (Word Books, Waco, Texas).
For those of you who do not know, Carl Henry, was a theological giant. You can visit the Henry Center here for more information about his long life and career and his theology.
For those of you who think we focus only on what Gordon Clark says, or that we “idolize” Clark (according to Jeff Vaughn), one may want to read the six influential volumes of Mr. Henry. Clark was Henry’s teacher and friend. The Billy Graham center wrote, “Carl Ferdinand Howard Henry was perhaps the leading American Evangelical theologian of the twentieth century. In his memory, the Billy Graham Center Archives is making available on this page a few documents drawn from our collections that reflect some of his wide influence as a scholar, man and witness to his Lord Jesus Christ” (http://www.wheaton.edu/bgc/archives/memorial/carlhenry/carlhenry.html)
You can go and read several articles by him, there. You see, this “perhaps” one of the most influential Evangelical theologians basically outlines Clark’s system of philosophy in God, Revelation and Authority. To penetrate into the Evangelical mind, as a Preterist, one must know the evangelical mind.
If Preterists ignore epistemology and its relationship to the book of Genesis, it will die a slow but necessary death.

I own this set, except for the 6th volume. I've not really dug into it yet. His “Remaking the Modern Mind” is a gem though!
